Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. The Service

Sequo is a free, browser-based multiplayer card game. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, with or without notice. We may also limit access to certain features or to the Service as a whole, including for maintenance, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or always available.

3. Accounts (Optional)

Most of Sequo can be used without an account. Some optional features (such as the leaderboard) may require you to sign in via Google or a magic link. If you create an account:

• You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
• You must provide accurate information and not impersonate another person.
• You may delete your account at any time by emailing sequogame@gmail.com.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree NOT to:

• Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other players, including through display names or chat messages.
• Post or transmit content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or infringes on the rights of others.
• Cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to play the game.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except as permitted by law.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by overloading our servers or probing for vulnerabilities outside a responsible-disclosure context.
• Use the Service to send spam, advertise, or promote third-party products or services without our written permission.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate access at our discretion if we believe these rules are being broken.

5. User Content

"User Content" means anything you submit to the Service, including display names, chat messages, and feedback. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant Sequo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. We may, but are not obligated to, monitor or remove any User Content.

6. Intellectual Property

Sequo, including its name, logo, design, code, graphics, sounds, and other content created by us, is owned by the operator and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our written permission, except as expressly allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

"Sequence" refers to a card and board game in the public game-mechanics space. Sequo is an independent online implementation and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any specific publisher or trademark holder of similarly named products.

7. Advertising

The Service may display advertisements, including ads served by Google AdSense and its partners. Ads are independent of the gameplay and we are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for any product or service advertised. Clicking an ad is at your own discretion.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we use it. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described there.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may include links to or integrations with third-party services (for example, Google sign-in, advertising networks, analytics, error tracking). We are not responsible for those services and their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEQUO AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD 100) OR THE EQUIVALENT IN YOUR LOCAL CURRENCY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. In such cases liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sequo and its operator from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right; or (d) your User Content.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service is no longer commercially or technically reasonable.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. If a change is material we will make a reasonable effort to notify you (for example, via a banner on the homepage). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved first by good-faith discussion. If that fails, disputes will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in the operator's place of residence, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to a different forum.

16. Miscellaneous

• Severability — if any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
• No waiver — failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Entire agreement — these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Sequo regarding the Service.
• Assignment — you may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
